The Latta Vikings softball team dropped an 8-5 decision to Aynor in a game played in Latta on Wednesday, March 9.
Arica Gandy suffered the loss for the Vikings while pitching 7 innings.  She struck out 6, allowed 14 hits, and 8 runs.
Aynor’s Layna Johnson struck out 3 and allowed 6 hits in 4 innings to pick up the win.
Brooke Elliott led the Aynor Blue Jackets with 4 hits in 4 trips to the plate including a home run and 2 doubles.  Layna Johnson picked up 3 rbi in 2 hits in 4 trips to the plate.
Arica Gandy led the Vikings with 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 2 rbi. Kyra Grant was also 2 for 3 for Latta while Camryn Sawyer picked up 2 hits in 4 trips to the plate.Latta is now 6 and 1 for the season. The Latta Vikings Softball team will hosed Hartsville Friday, March 11, at 5:30 p.m. in Latta.
