Services for F.B. Snipes were held 3:00 p.m. Monday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment with military honors wsa held in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum
Mr. Snipes, 85, died Friday, March 25, 2016 at his residence.
Born in Robeson County, NC, October 14, 1930, he was the son of the late Ben Snipes and Tisha Lovette Snipes. He was a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church in Fairmont, was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was retired from Wix. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Earldean Jacobs Snipes of Dillon; daughter, Sharon (Jimmy) Sanders of Blenheim; son, Thomas (Donna) Snipes of Shallotte, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Snipes, Elise Sanders, Jim Sanders, and Billy Ray Jackson; great-grandchild, Tristan Williams; sisters, Evelyn Edwards, and Addie (Gary) Edwards, both of Fairmont, NC; brother, S.J. (Judy) Snipes of Rockwood, TN; numerous nieces and nephews; godchildren, Allison and Victoria Thompson.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 206 E. Roosevelt St., Dillon, SC 29536, or to the Alzheimers Association, 1039 44th Ave., N. Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The family would like to say a special thanks to Hospice Care of SC, Courtney, Molly, Carolyn, Heather and Dorie for the care given to F.B. during his illness, and also to his VA Aide, Millie Manning.
