The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the Carvers Bay Bears 19-0 in a no-hit 5-inning varsity baseball game pitched by Nick Collins as he struck out 9 and only walked 1.
Lake View picked up 2 runs in the top of the first inning and added 1 in the top of the third, 3 in the top of the fourth, and 13 in the top of the fifth inning.
Lake View’s team had 18 hits in the victory and only 2 errors while Carvers Bay committed 5 errors.
Nick Collins also had 1 hit in 4 trips to the plate while picking up 2 rbi and a stolen base for the Gators.
Josh Price had 3 hits in 4 trips to the plate with a rbi while De’Ante Bridgett was also 3 for 4 with a triple and a rbi. Brent Herlong collected 1 hit in 3 trips to the plate with 2 rbi.
Lake View will host Hemingway at 5 p.m. this Thursday, April 7, at 5:00 p.m.
Carvers Bay Bears defeated the Lake View Lady Wild Gators 11-1 in a 5-inning game played in Hemingway on Tuesday, April 5.
Haley Haselden pitched a complete game and allowed only 1 hit while striking out 6, walked 1, and allowed 1 earned run for the win for Carvers Bay. Haselden also managed a 2-run homer while taking 1 trip to the plate.
Ally Spivey was charged with the loss for Lake View as she pitched 4 innings while allowing 6 hits, 11 runs of which 8 were earned, walked 6, struck out 3, and hit 3 batters with a pitch.
Lake View’s lone run came on a home run by Kayla Page in the top of the fourth inning.
Kinsey Cannon was perfect in her 2 trips to the plate as she garnered 2 hits and 2 rbi while Alice Broach was 2 for 4 including a double and 2 rbi for the Bears.
