Andrew Bryant’s grand slam home run in the bottom of the third inning powered the Physicians Healthcare Yankees to a 10-2 win over the Dillon Internal Medicine Hurricanes as the two teams put their 2-0 records to a test.
Bryant also pitched 2-hit complete game while striking out seven and walking none. He also added a single in the first and scored to give the Yanks an early 2-1 lead.
Nigel George had given the ‘Canes a 1-0 lead as he led off the first with triple and scored on an overthrow from the outfield. Bryant’s two hits also led the Yanks at the plate and Avery Hewitt led off the second inning with a double.
Those were the only three hits for the winners. D.J. Brogdon took the loss for the Hurricanes.
There won’t be another Major League game in Dillon until Friday when two Latta teams come to Dillon to play the Hurricanes and Dillon Family Dental Giants.
In a Minor League game, the McLeod Health Marlins beat the Pepsi Cola Blue Jays, 9-0, on the no-hit pitching by Jamison Pittman and Jessie Altman.
The two also led at the plate with Pittman driving in a pair of runs with a double and Altman getting a two-run single. 
Burger King will play McLeod and Ace Hardware will meet the Blue Jays in Thursday’s Minor League action.  In the Majors the Giants will travel to Mullins for a Thursday game.
