Memorial services for James Madison “Jay” Asbill were held 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Asbill, 80, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence.
Born in Guilford County, NC, October 9, 1935, he was the son of the late Albert Burgess Asbill and Ruth Shelton Asbill. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Freda Davis Asbill of Latta; children, Denise (Matthew) Buckner of Charleston, SC, Jay (Sam) Asbill, Jr. of Conway, SC, Tara (Richard) Jernick of New York, Teresa Roberts of Aynor, SC, Tabby (Kelly) Campbell of Latta, and Shawn (Crystal) Caulder of Columbia; grandchildren, Richard, Lance, Rhyia, Thomas, Madison, Angel, Key, Matthew, Joey, and Courtney; great-grandchild, Wyatt; sister, Lois Cruthis of Archdale, NC.
