Mrs. Isla Frances Edwards Ford died Friday, June 3, 2016, in Camden, South Carolina, after an extended illness. She was ninety-five years old.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 5, 2016, at 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lake View, South Carolina. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Ford was born in Fork, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Colon Mason and Flora Rogers Edwards. She graduated from Lake View High School. She retired from First Citizens Bank after more than twenty years of service.
She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Lake View, actively serving in Sunday School, Women’s Missionary Union, and numerous committees. She enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking for family and neighbors, reading, and playing piano.
Surviving are one son, William Jesse Ford, Jr. (Mary Sue) of Dillon, South Carolina; three daughters: Florinette Ford Renfrow (Jimmy) of Lake View, South Carolina, Isla Frances Ford Graham(Art) of Camden, South Carolina, and Rebecca Ford Duke (Jesse) of Fernandina Beach, Florida; seventeen grandchildren, fifty-five great grandchildren, and twenty-six great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Jesse Ford; her son, Colon Mason Edwards Ford; and two sisters, Mary Florence Edwards Bethea and Clara Mae Edwards Moore.
