A vehicle pursuit resulted in a manhunt, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
On May 26, a deputy with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation on West Main Street in Dillon and attempted to stop the vehicle.
The driver fled. The vehicle did fit the description of a vehicle that an individual was in during a shooting incident that occurred in the Riverdale Community in April, said Arnette.
The deputies lost contact with the vehicle during the chase in Little Rock. It was later found abandoned in a field near a wooded area in Little Rock. A search for the driver of the vehicle was initiated, said Arnette.
The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Dillon Police Department, South Carolina Highway Patrol, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
