Mr. Gaetano John Francese died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home after an illness.
 
A graveside service will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mt. Pleasant Memorial Gardens in Mt. Pleasant SC. The family will receive friends at the home of Paul and Carolyn Lupo.
 
Mr. Francese was born in Charleston SC, the son of the late Gaetano John and Theresa Diyorio Francese. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served during War World II.  He was also a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
 
Mr. Francese is survived by Carolyn and Paul Lupo of Lake View; grandchildren, John Paul Lupo of Lake View and Kenneth Lupo (Farris) of Florence; a great grandson, Baze Lupo of Florence; and nieces and nephews.
 
Mr. Francese was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Edwina Black Francese.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
