With the arrival of fall, there is no better time to get out on the greens and play the City of Dillon Municipal Golf Course.
Located at 141 West Country Club Road, Hamer, at the Twin Lake Country Club, this challenging 18-hole regulation length golf course is a great place to brush up on your game or go on an outing with friends.
The course provides 6,100 yards of golf from the longest tee and has a par of 71. It has a USGA (United States Golf Association) rating of 67.1. The slope rating is 113.
The course has a flat terrain with pine tree-lined fairways, two ponds, Bermuda grass, and sand bunkers, which are part of the design of every hole. One better have a good tee shot at the signature hole, No. 8, if one plans to have a chance a par. There are tees for all skill levels.
Opened in 1940, the course underwent a complete rehab in 2013 when it was taken over by the City of Dillon.
A putting green and driving range are available as well as a teaching pro if assistance is needed. The course offers rental clubs, rental carts which are included in the green fees, and pull carts.
The course is used by nonprofit organizations for fundraisers for various worthy causes. It is used by the Dillon Christian School and Latta High School golf teams for matches and it has been host to the Pee Dee Seniors tournament and Juniors tournament.
Membership fees, which include green fees and fishing rights, are $40 per month for an individual, $25 per month for a junior under age 18, $50 per month for a family, and $32.50 per person for a corporate (five or more) membership.
