Services for John Henry Jackson, Sr. will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at East Dillon Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1:30-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Jackson, 86, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, October 11, 1930, he was the son of the late Charlie Monroe Jackson and Annie Hyatt Jackson. He was a member of East Dillon Baptist Church, and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth B. “Lib” Jackson of Dillon; daughter, Bonnie J. Fore (Mickey) of Hamer; son, John Jackson, Jr. (Elaine) of Dillon; grandchildren, Bill Fore (Kristina), Britt Fore Tyler (Bobby), Michael Hopkins (Lisa), and Amy Wilkes (Ross); great-grandchildren, James Shenay & Jessica Beeson, Riley & Piper Tyler, Jessica Padgette (Ace), Kurstin Hopkins, Morgan Bethea & Alaina Wilkes; great-great-grandson, Dylan Padgette; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his eight siblings.
