The Latta Vikings took a 11-1 win over the Mullins Auctioneers in a 10-run rule 5-inning game on Tuesday, March 7, in Mullins.
Kody Anderson picked up the win for the Vikings. He tossed 5 innings and allowed only 1 run on 4 hits and struck out 6.
Kiles took the loss for the Auctioneers.
He threw for 2 and one-third innings and gave up 5 runs, 5 hits, struck out 4, and walked 1.
Latta scored in the top of the first inning to set the stage for the game. Latta added another 3 runs in the top of the second inning. Four runs crossed home in the top of the third for the Vikings. Mullins managed to score a run in the bottom of the third. The Vikings added another run in the top of the fourth, and 2 more in the top of the fifth.
The Vikings connected for 11 hits in the game.
Jason Norton and Jordan Hayes each singled in 2 trips to the plate for the Vikings. Caleb Mishue and Noah Moody each picked up 2 singles in 3 trips to the plate while Cledus Williams connected for 2 doubles in 4 trips to the plate. Daniel Khalil garnered a single in 3 at bats while Dylan Brewer managed 2 singles in 4 at bats.
The Auctioneer’s J. Johnson was perfect with a single in his 1 at bat while Kiles connected for a double in his 2 at bats. Martin and Hewitt each singled in 2 at bats.
The Mullins Auctioneers committed 5 errors while the Latta Vikings committed 1.
