It was another day that will go down in the history books in Dillon County as the papers were signed transferring the property for Inland Port Dillon on Wednesday morning.
The signing took place at the offices of LeGette & Berry in Latta.
Landowners Cullen Bryant and Joseph E. “Bill” Coward signed over their property to the county and Dillon County Council Chairman Archie Scott signed the papers transferring the property to the South Carolina Ports Authority. Three parcels of property were transferred.
According to the deed filed with the Dillon County Clerk of Court’s office, E. Cullen Bryant received $1,097,920 for 68.62 acres designated as Tract 1 on a Plat of the Dillon Inland Port Parcel prepared for the S.C. State Ports Authority. It amounts to $16,000 per acre. Bryant also received $795,040 for 49.69 acres designated as Tract 2 on a Plat of the Dillon Inland Port Parcel prepared for the S.C. State Ports Authority. This also amounts to $16,000 per acre. The total amount for the two tracts is $1,892,960.
Joseph E.” Bill” Coward received $398,800 for 39.88 acres of land desingated as Tract 3 on a Plat of the Dillon Inland Port Parcel prepared for the S.C. State Ports Authority. This amounts to $10,000 per acre.
