A 44-year-old New York man was killed in an accident on Interstate 95 on Saturday.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identifies the victim as Raul Perez, a 44-year-old Hispanic male of New York. Grimsley said he died as a result of the accident. According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, the accident occurred near the 195 mile marker on Interstate 95 when the 2002 Toyota that Perez was a passenger in went into the median and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle was taken by helicopter to the hospital.
