On August 1, at its regularly scheduled meeting of the Dillon Historic School Foundation, Chairman Gerald Berry appointed Deneene Herring as Site Manager.
As such, Deneene will oversee the historic property located on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. between Cleveland and Washington Streets in Dillon.
The former J. V. Martin Jr. High School campus was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014 and has the potential to fulfill a major role in Dillon’s revitalization project.
Not only will Deneene conduct weekly security inspections of all buildings on site, but she will also serve as the primary contact person for those interested in touring the historic buildings on the two-block campus.
Contact Deneene Herring by phone at 843-632-2774, or write to her at: Deneene Herring, DHSF Site Manager, P. O. Box 173, Dillon, S. C. 29536.
