The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several break-ins that have occurred throughout the county, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office. On Sunday, May 20, 2018, the Sheriff’s Office responded a burglary at the Oakland Holiness Church in Hamer. According to an incident by Deputy Russell Hubbard, the church was broken into between May 13th and May 18th according to the pastor. The suspect(s) took musical equipment from the church. On Friday, May 18, 2018 the sheriff’s office responded to a burglary at the Fork Post Office. According to an incident report by Deputies Russell Hubbard and Ryan Bethea the break in was discovered by some customers. The suspect(s) took postage stamps and money. On Tuesday, May 22, 2018 the sheriff’s office responded to an alarm at Quick Stop Corner Store on Oakland Road in Hamer. According to an incident report by Deputy Troy Jones upon arriving at the alarm call Deputy Jones noticed some things that looked out of place and upon further investigation it was determined that the business had been broken into. Deputy Jones was assisted by deputies Richard Lee, Kenneth Samuel and Investigator Allan Rogers.
