Services for Esther Ann Johnson Herring were held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation was held 2:00-3:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Herring, 73, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 at her residence after a brief illness with her daughters by her side.
Born in Robeson County, NC, September 1, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Gary Johnson and Virginia McCormick Johnson. She was a member of Little Rock Baptist Church, and the McLeod Auxiliary. She was retired from the Probate Court after 30 years of service, and was a graduate of Class of 1963 at Dillon High School.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda (Buck, Jr.) Graham of Dillon, and Sharon (Johnny) McRae of North Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Travis (Taylor) Graham, and Carlton Graham; great-grandson, Fletcher Thomas Graham; brother, Gary Johnson, Jr. (Betty Miles Johnson) of Morganton, NC; brother-in-law, J.L. Wilkes of Dillon; niece, Kathy Wilkes Lane.
Mrs. Herring was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Thomas “Tommy” Herring; and her sisters, Ava Johnson, Judy Mizzell, and Hilda Wilkes.
