The Latta Lady Vikings varsity softball team was held to only 1 hit in the 5-0 loss to Andrews on Saturday, May 4, in Andrews, in the Class 2A Lower State playoffs.
Andrews connected for 5 hits in the game.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fifth inning when Andrews placed 5 runs on the scoreboard.
Carli McCants picked up the win for Andrews. She pitched 7 innings and allowed only 1 hit, no earned runs, walked 2, and struck out 14.
Arica Gandy took the loss. She pitched 4 innings and allowed 3 hits, 3 runs of which 2 were earned, walked 3, and struck out 3.
Latta committed 3 errors in the game. Andrews did not commit an error in the game.
Latta hosts Timberland on Monday, May 6.
