Two people are dead as a result of a shooting that occurred at Southside Apartments in Latta on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley identifies the victims as Trevon Frierson, a 17-year-old black male of Latta, and Keishawn Davis, a 23-year-old black male of Latta. They both died of gunshot wounds.
The deadly shooting is currently under investigation by the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and Dillon County Coroner’s Office.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Crime Scene Unit assisted the Sheriff’s Office process the scene. Deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Southside Apartments for shots fired and assisted by Latta Police Department.
