The Lake View Wild Gators defeated the Green Sea Floyds Trojans 66-44 on Friday, February 5, in varsity basketball action in Lake View.
Lake View was up 21-7 at the end of the first quarter. By halftime, Lake View led 31-19. At the end of three quarters, Lake View was up 44-30.
Lake View’s Michael McInnis scored 20 points of which he connected on four 3-point baskets, two 2-point baskets, and 4 free throws. Sevon Nichols added 8 points to the scoreboard by sinking four 2-point baskets while Tyqul McCants hit three 2-point baskets and a free throw. Raekwon McNeil made two 2-point baskets and 2 free throws for 6 points. DJ Bethea sank a 3-point basket and 3 free throws for 6 points. Garrett Vaught also picked up 6 points on a three-point basket, a two-point basket, and a free throw. Cornelius McArthur added 5 points to the Wild Gator’s score on a 3-point basket and 2 free throws. Trey Page connected for a 3-point basket while Da’Correus Ford hit a 2-point basket and a free throw for 3 points. Marquise Johnson garnered a 2-point basket. Green Sea Floyd’s Dayshawn Davis scored a game-high 24 points by connecting on eight 2-point baskets, a 3-point basket, and 5 free throws. Eric Crawford added 12 points on five 2-point baskets and 2 free throws while Dalton Stroud had two 2-point baskets and 3 free throws for 7 points. Austin Damron garnered a free throw. Lake View committed 4 fouls in the first half and 7 fouls in the second half.
