The City of Dillon is accepting sealed bids for the construction of the U.S. Highway 301 bridge force main relocation.
Bids are due by October 15 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dillon City Council Chambers at which time the bids will be opened and read.
 “The project consists of constructing approximately 1,400 linear feet of 16 inch HDPE directional bore, 950 linear feet of 14” PVC force main and the related appurtenances,” according to the bid ad.
The project is “being funded in part by a loan from the State Revolving Fund.”
At a recent meeting of the Dillon City Council, Mayor Todd Davis reported that the city had received an approximately $491,000 loan from the State Revolving Fund with an interest rate of 1.5 percent.
Councilman Phil Wallace asked if they could get a grant. City Manager Glen Wagner said he doubted they could get grant money. He said that the SC Department of Transportation wants the city to go as quickly as possible. He said they want the city to abandon the line completely before SCDOT begins building. He said Hardy Jackson had been trying to locate the line, but a meeting was scheduled about this.
Councilman Wallace asked several questions about the line.
