Services for Carl Edward “Eddie” Hayes, Jr. were held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with masonic rites will be held in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hayes, 56, died Thursday, November 5, 2015.
Born in Dillon County, SC, September 14, 1959, he was the son of Frances Jackson Hayes and the late Carl Edward Hayes, Sr. He was the owner and operator of Peel Construction, was a Mason of Acacia Lodge 169, and was a Shriner. He was also a member of the Omar Oriental Band. He was a loving husband, son, father, PaPa, and was loved by everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Hayes of Latta; mother, Frances Jackson Hayes of Latta; sons, Carl Edward “Ed” Hayes, III (Amy), and Lyle Johnson Hayes (Lauren), both of Latta; grandchildren, Brianna Hayes, Trevor Hayes, Clara Grace Johnson, Grayson Hayes, and Kailee Hayes; brother, William Ellis Hayes (Nancy) of Latta; sister, Kim Hayes Kicklighter (James) of Irmo, SC; furbaby, Hercules; four nieces; six nephews; and two great-nephews. Eddie was preceded in death by his father; and his nephew, John Alan “J.J.” Martin, Jr.
