Sergeant First Class Ronnie Eugene Christmas died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Carolina’s Hospital System in Florence.
Memorial services will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel.
Born in Dillon, SC, December 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Shelton and Dollie Christmas.  He was a retired U.S. Army Veteran, having served twenty years in the Army and four years with the National Guard.  Medals he received included the Expert Rifleman, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Recruiter Badge, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Army Comendation Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Christmas of Florence; daughter, Stacy (Jr.) Herring of Florence; brother, Mitchell Hyatte of Morgan’s Point Resort, TX; sisters, Tina (Ronnie) Minshew of Dillon, and Helen Vile of Fayetteville, NC; granddaughter, Kerigan Herring; grandson, Trent Herring; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy Smith, Wheeler Rowell, Mike Rowell, Ann Huggins, Calvin Rowell, and Michelle Berry.
