The Dillon Herald won three awards from the South Carolina Press Association in their annual news contest. The awards were announced this past weekend at their annual meeting.
Johnnie Daniels won two awards in the Sports Action Photo category for 2-3 Times Weekly Newspapers. He won first place for a photo from the Dillon-Hartsville scrimmage game. The judge’s comment was “great action.”  Daniels also won second place for a photo from the Dillon Baseball Lower State Title game.
Betsy Finklea won second place in the General News Photo category for a photo from the Latta World Series Champions Celebration and Parade. The photo was taken at the Latta gazebo.
