COLUMBIA (May 27, 2016) – A Fayetteville, NC, man went looking for a good deal, and he found one.
Saturday morning he was out shopping the yard sales and stopped for coffee and a lottery ticket at the Tiger Mart #8 on N. Richardson St. in Latta. As luck would have it, the $10 lottery ticket was his biggest find of the day.
In the middle of eating dinner that evening, he remembered the Mega Bucks ticket. And once he scratched off a $250,000 win wasn’t hungry anymore.
“I didn’t eat the rest,” he said. “I was elated.”
His plans for the winnings are to pay off his car, put some towards retirement and take a long trip.
“I got one good deal,” he said. “I’m going to treat myself to lunch.”
As of this release, two top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 Mega Bucks game. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, Tiger Mart #8 in Latta received a commission of $2,500.
