Services for Joyce Bourgoin Carter was held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakland Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.  Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
     Mrs. Carter, 64, died Sunday, July 3, 2016 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after an illness.
     Born in Dillon County, SC, March 2, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Milton Bourgoin and Ruth Berry Bourgoin.  She was a member of Oakland Holiness Church.
     Survivors include her husband that she married on May 24, 1985,  Roy F. Carter, Jr. (Ben) of Dillon; daughters, Tina Scott (Clint), Elaine Lane (Travis), and Ashley Huggins; grandchildren, Kristin W. Lee (Joshua), Makaela Hulon (Justin), Kelsey Jackson, Braden Jackson, Trevor Lane, Kross Lane, Hunter Lane, Colby Scott, Kelsey Scott, Kaley Scott, and Lee Hyatt; step-children, Frankie Carter (Shay), Tesha Carter; brothers, Jimmy Bourgoin (Gail), Jerry Bourgoin (Brenda) , and  Ricky Bourgoin (Betty); special friend, Kathy Jackson.
     Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Johnny Bourgoin, Randy Bourgoin, Larry Berry, Judy Hargrove, Barbara Cook, Michael Bourgoin, and Robbie Bourgoin.
