Newburgh, IN – Charles “Chuck” Lawrence Yeager, 87, died August 12, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN. Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Dillon, SC, with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the Saint Louis Parish Life Center. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Mr. Yeager was born February 24, 1929 in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late William A. and Mary O’Malley Yeager. He was the widower of Helen M. Christman Yeager. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked at the Pentagon during the Korean War. Chuck retired as Vice President of Manufacturing for Montone Trailer and had a degree in Mechanical Engineering. When he and his wife lived in Dillon, SC, they were devoted members of St. Louis Roman Catholic Church. While living near his daughter in Newburgh, IN, he attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Chuck is survived by his sons, Chuck Yeager, Jr. (Barb) of Dillon, SC, Tim Yeager (Lynn) of Jacksonville, Fl, and Gary Yeager (Suzanne) of Holly Springs, NC; daughter, Kathy Y. Borkowski (Steve) of Newburgh, IN; and grandchildren, Shannon, Chris, Ashley, Timmy, Jacob, Mike, Beth, Dan, Brittany, and Garrett. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
