Services for George Walker Turner will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Turner, 77, died Sunday, October 16, 2016 at his residence.
Born in Marlboro County, SC, April 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Mae McDowell and Rebecca Powers.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Myrtle Turner of Dillon; children, Billy “Smiley” (Elizabeth) Turner, Georgianna (Clarence) Cooper, Lisa (Ricky) Hyatt, all of Dillon, and Wanda (Joe) Taylor of Marion; grandchildren, George Michael (Crystal) Turner, Ashley (Don), Nikki (Huey) Locklear, Alicia (Kevin) Bryant, Alvin Wesley Martindale, Jr., and Billy Walker “Mojo” Turner, Jr. (Heidi);great-grandchildren, Aston Turner, Michael Wayne Turner, Jr., Austin Lee Locklear, Kelly Elizabeth Locklear, Layla Marie Knight, Jaden Kensey Bryant, George Michael Turner, Jr., Chloe Carter, and Trinity Jordan; sister, Bertie Elvis.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his brothers, James Franklin Powers, and Roosevelt Powers; and his grandchildren, Kelly Ann Turner, and Caleb Lee Locklear.
