The Lake View Lady Wild Gators suffered a 11-1 ten-rule run loss to the East Clarendon Wolverines in varsity softball action played on Monday, March 20, in Turbeville.
The Wolverines picked up 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning.
The Wild Gators managed to get a run across in the top of the second inning to close the gap to a 3-1 lead for the Wolverines.
East Clarendon picked up 2 runs in the bottom of the third inning, 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, and another run in the bottom of the fifth inning while holding Lake View scoreless in the last 4 innings to claim a 11-1 victory. Logan Spivey was the losing pitcher. She pitched 3 and 1/3 innings and allowed 8 hits, 5 runs of which were earned, walked 2, and struck out 3.
Marleigh Floyd picked up the win while pitching the entire 5 innings. She allowed 3 hits, a run of which was earned, walked 1, and struck out 4.
Spivey Evans and Jasmine Ford each garnered a hit in 2 at-bats for the Lake View Wild Gators.
Olivia Singletary was perfect at the plate with 3 hits and a rbi in her 3 at-bats for the Wolverines. Elly Floyd was also perfect at the plate with 3 hits in 3 at-bats while Abbie Reardon connected for 2 hits and 4 rbi in her 2 at-bats. Gracen Watts alos picked up 4 rbi and 2 hits including a homerun in her 3 at-bats. Kinsley Driggers managed to connect for 2 hits in her 3 at-bats. Lake View will host Hemingway on Friday, March 24, at 5:00 p.m.
