The new Dillon County Animal Shelter is open and is accepting animals, according to County Administrator Clay Young. Council members toured the facility before their last meeting. The shelter is located on the Old Latta Highway across from the Dillon County Detention Center. A public event at the new animal shelter may be planned in the near future. The Herald will have details once plans are made.
