Services for James Allen “Jimbo” Locklear will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Leland Grove Freewill Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation was held 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cooper Funeral Home. Mr. Locklear, 69, died Friday, April 30, 2021 at his residence.
Born in Dillon County, SC, March 21, 1952, he was the son of the late Sherman Locklear and Betty Mildred Locklear. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Survivors include his children, Tringa Clark of Fayetteville, NC, Nickie Newberry of Rockingham, Russell Locklear of Maxton, Angela Locklear of Dillon, Eddie Locklear (Tonya) of Tacoma, WA, and Tameka Tamez of Olympia, WA; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Sandy Bennett of Laurinburg, NC, Wanda Locklear of Little Rock, Peggy Branch (Larry) of Little Rock, Tammy Berry (Timmy) of Calhoun, GA, and Pamela McColl (John) of Clio; nephews, Tally, Patrick, Al, Erwin, Mason and Tyler.
Mr. Locklear was preceded in death by his special niece, Rhonda Branch.
