A Florida man was killed on the interstate on Saturday, according to Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins of the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Coroner Donnie Grimsley identified the man as Robert Craig Newell, age 66, of Florida.
Collins said the man was traveling in a 2003 Chevrolet van south on I-95 when he struck a vehicle in the rear, lost control, went into the median and struck a tree. The wreck occurred about 3:40 p.m. The man was wearing a seatbelt.
The wreck is under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
