Irene Bryant Calhoun, 89, died Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Mullins Nursing Center. She was born in Dillon County, a daughter of the late Robert Maxie and Dora Bullock Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Calhoun; one brother, Dean Bryant, and two sisters, Jacqueline Koch and Maxine O’Hara. She is survived by six sons, Clarence “Skebo” Calhoun, Jr. and Phillip Caldwell Calhoun both of Florence, Thomas Stewart Calhoun of Temperance Hill, George Robert Calhoun of Floydale, Paul Anthony Calhoun and Charles Kevin “Butch” Calhoun, both of Fork; one daughter, Rosemary Adams of Chapin, S.C.; one brother, Ronald Bryant of Orlando, Florida, and fourteen grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Cedardale Cemetery in Mullins.
