Major Alexis T. McClain (Lex) recently graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Class 11-01 on 2 June 2011, at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
The U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (USAC&GSC) is a United States Army facility that functions as a graduate school for United States Armed Forces and foreign military leaders. It was originally established in 1881 as a school for infantry and cavalry by William Tecumseh Sherman.
The U.S. Army Command and General Staff College educates and develops leaders for full spectrum joint, interagency and multinational operations; acts as lead agent for the Army’s leader development program; and advances the art and science of the profession of arms in support of Army operational requirements.
Major McClain received his commission from North Carolina A&T State University where he earned his BS degree, and later an MA from Webster University. His follow on assignment is United States Forces- Iraq in support of Operation New Dawn.
Major McClain is the son of Dr. Harold McClain Sr. and Dr. Veronica Johnson, both of South Carolina.
