RALI- Dillon County is an active group working to make a difference in the community.
What is RALI? RALI is the Rural Area Leadership Initiative.
Groups exist in Marion, Marlboro and Williamsburg counties as well as Dillon County.
According to Pat Laird, RALI chairperson, class members were trained for six months. When the training was complete, the group was charged with developing a community project.
A number of proposals were considered before the group decided on a free medical clinic.
The free medical clinic, however, will not be the RALI group’s only project. They will continue to develop projects for the betterment of the community. The next project has not yet been chosen.
RALI- Dillon County members are Chairperson Pat Laird, Travis Jackson, Johnnie Luehrs, Tonny McNeil, Haywood Proctor, Anna Alford, Ernie Barrentine, Carmen Bethea, Carolyn Bolton, Lynn Bowman, Brenda Campbell, Shipp Daniel, Evelyn Govan, Cynthia Hulon, Brenda Ivey, Teresa Jacobs, Mamie Legette, Grady Sampson, and Carrie Townsend.
