A veterans program was held recently at McCoy Chapel United Methodist Church. The master of ceremony was Clarence McRae. He then introduced James Leslie-McCoy, program chairperson and Dillon County Veteran of the Year. The history of Veteran’s Day was explained. Leslie-McCoy then presented plaques to Robert McRae and Major Bethea for their service in the Army. The 13 steps of the folding flag were explained and demonstrated followed by the presentation. Clarence McRae, chairman of the administrative board, thanked the veterans for their service to our country and presenting the program. The veterans are (L to r): David Leslie (Army), Walter McCall (Army), James Henry Manning (Marines), Robert McRae (Army), James Leslie-McCoy (Air Force), Jessie Leak (Marines), Boysie Manning (Marines), Raymond Mack (Air Force), and Rev. Ronald McCall (Army). Rev. Ronald McCall is the pastor of McCoy Chapel (Little Rock Parish).
