The Dillon County Council appointed Alan Berry to the Pee Dee Regional Transportation Authority Board at their January meeting.
Berry previously held the seat, but resigned to attend law school, according to Councilman Buzzy Finklea, who made the motion to appoint him back to the seat. Berry was vice-chairman of the board when he resigned. Finklea said Berry’s schedule is such now that he will be able to attend the meetings. Councilman Joe Johnson seconded Finklea’s motion, and the council approved the appointment. The appointment is for three years.
“The PDRTA Board of Directors is a working board, governing the mission, policies, and budgetary matters affecting the authority and operating under numerous federal, state, and local regulations,” according to a letter sent to council by PDRTA Executive Director Charles M. MacNeil.
