Services for Jesse “Duke” Gaddy will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Evergreen Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation was held 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gaddy, 64, died Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the home of a family member.
Born in Dillon County, SC, October 1, 1948, he was the son of the late Don Lester Berry and Lula Mae Hyatt Berry.
He worked as a Tree Surgeon and loved working outdoors.
Survivors include his children, Stevie, Teresa, and Rhonda; sisters, Carolyn Outlar (Richard) of Dillon, Lura Dean Berry (Punkin) of Myrtle Beach, SC, Norma Jean Huggins (Danny) of Greensburg, PA, Tammy Lynn Hayes of Bennettsville, SC; very special friends, David Campbell, Earl Brown, and Charles Wayne Ivey; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Gaddy was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Gaddy of Burlington; parents, Don Lester Berry and Lula Mae Hyatt Berry of Dillon; brothers, Ronnie Berry of Dillon, SC, Ray Berry of Graham, NC, and Dewey Bud Gaddy of Liberty, NC; and sister, Cathy Berry of Dillon, SC.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Hospice Nursing Staff in Dillon, Carolyn Outlar (sister) and David and Lori Campbell (niece and husband) for there love, compassion, and great care they gave to “Duke” during his illness.
