The Dillon County 4-H Shooting Sports Club competed in the first South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation (SCYSF) sporting clays event of the 2013-2014 season. The sporting clay event was held at Rocky Creek sporting clays in Richburg, SC on December 14. There were over 250 individual shooters from 23 different teams that competed in a winter rain storm. The Dillon County team had 10 shooters competing in 3 different categories. The teams came from SCISA Schools, Public Schools, Gun Clubs, and 4-H clubs and competed as 88 different squads with three shooters per squad.

The rookie squad of Rich McFee, Cole Gasque, and Boone Campbell won third place in their division. McFee was third High-Over-All in this division and Nash Harpe, also from the Dillon County team, was 7th highest in this division. The winning team in this division was from Backwoods Quail Club, a sporting clay range and the second place team was the home club from Rocky Creek.

In the intermediate 1st year division, the Dillon County squad of Daniel Camp, Justin Herring, and Zack Arrington came in 4th place. The winners in this division were also from gun clubs with Mid Carolina taking 1st place and Rocky Creek taking 2nd and 3rd.

The Dillon County squad in the Senior 1st year division had two females, Hannah Martin, and Tangie McFee along with Austin Miller. This team came in 4th place in their division which was also won by one of the Rocky Creek teams. McFee was HOA in the Ladies Intermediate division on the oak course and Martin was 5th HOA Lady Advanced on the same course.
