Services for John David “Johnny” Hatchell, Sr. wereheld 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Bethesda Southern Methodist Church Cemetery.  Visitation was held 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hatchell, 66, died Thursday, March 6, 2014 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence.
Born in Horry County, SC, August 12, 1947, he was the son of the late Liston Nathaniel Hatchell and Maybelle Williams Hatchell.  He was a member of Shiloh Chapel and was a retired Truck Driver.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Cox Hatchell of the home; children, John David Hatchell, Jr. of Manteo, NC, Trena Hatchell Ballard of Wilmington, NC, Kenny Bryan Hatchell of Florence, Robbie Byrd of Dillon, Kathy Jackson of Latta, and Tommy Byrd of Dillon; grandchildren of the home, Trey Byrd, Parker Byrd, T.J. Byrd, Landon Byrd and Liam Byrd; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special pets, Amos, Allie, Skeebie, and Princess; sisters, Gracie Jackson, Susie Lee, Barbara Chipman, and Dot Hatchell, all of Latta; brother, Gerald Hatchell of Kitty Hawk, NC.
Mr. Hatchell was preceded in death by his brothers, Chuck Hatchell, and Larry Hatchell; and his sister, Helen Lane.
