The Dillon Christian School Lady Warriors traveled to Darlington County on Friday and went down 15-5 to region foe Trinity/Byrnes Lady Titans.

The Warriors were coming off a 20-4 loss on Thursday to the Titans and hoped to fare better in this game. Early on it looked as if the Warriors would be in contention as they went up 3-0 in the top of the first but the Titans bounced back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 3-3.

The Warriors got three runners to base in the top of the second inning but some careless base running caused the Warriors to come away with no runs. The Titans were able to also get three runners to base but made no base mistakes and got two runners home to give them a 5-3 lead at the end of two innings.

The Warriors loaded the bases again in the top of the third inning but only one runner was brought in and they duplicated the same in the fourth inning. The Titans had a hot at bat in the bottom of the third and fourth innings, adding four runs in each inning and holding the Warriors to the two runs to give the Titans a 13-5 lead. The fifth inning was scoreless.

The Warriors hit the ball deep in the sixth inning but the Titans showed some good glove in the outfield and got out of the inning with runners left on second and third base. The Titans managed two runs in the bottom of the sixth and the game was called on the 10-run mercy rule at 15-5.

On the mound for the Titans, Whitney Kirby posted six strikeouts, had seven walked batters, and allowed six hits and five runs scored for the win.
