The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and the S.C. Highway Patrol discovered a liquor still operation on Saturday, May 17th, according to Captain Cliff Arnette of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
At the operation located on Lovelle Road in the Nichols area, law enforcement officers found an operational liquor still as well as marijuana and other items.
Barry Wayne Cook, age 53, 753 Lovelle Road, Nichols has been charged with manufacturing marijuana, manufacturing illegal liquor, and felon in possession of a firearm. He was released from the Dillon County Detention Center on a $21,092.50 surety bond.
Participating in the bust were S.C. State Trooper Jimmy King, Chief Deputy Larry Abraham, Deputy Kim Brumble, Pvt. Art Quick, Sgt. Chaddie Hayes, and Sgt. Randy Tyler.
