A man has been arrested in a shooting that occurred in Latta on May, according to the Latta Police Department.
On May 9 at approximately 10:22 p.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired on Clara Street in the town limits of Latta.
Upon officers’ arrival, a 51-year-old male victim was found in the roadway of Clara Street with multiple gunshot wounds.
The officers set a perimeter around the crime scene, and Dillon County EMS transported the victim to the emergency room.
On June 5, the Latta Police Department obtained arrest warrants on the suspect in this case, Levonda Jermaine Page of Latta, for attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and felon in possession of a firearm.
At approximately 8 p.m. on June 5th, officers from the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, Latta Police Department, SLED, and Dillon City Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on South Park Court, off Old Ebenezer Road, just outside the town limits of Latta.
Levonda Jermaine Page was arrested on the arrest warrants and charges are pending from the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office stemming from the search warrant.
Another man was also arrested at the residence on charges stemming from the search warrant.
Both subjects are being held at the Dillon County Detention Center.
Officers from SLED, the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, and the Dillon City Police Department assisted in the investigation of this case.
