Recently, the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office hosted a 4th Circuit Alcohol Enforcement Team (AET) 101 training.
There were 40 participants from around the circuit.
The training was conducted by the State AET Liaison Michael George and Michelle Nienhius of South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services (DAODAS).
The training allows law enforcement the opportunity to better understand the problems and concerns with underage drinking along with ways in which to better serve their communities through environmental strategies.
On June 20th, AET along with SLED and local law enforcement conducted 15 compliance checks which resulted in zero sales.
Stores that did not sell included Walgreens, (3) Tiger Mart Stores, (2) Quick Shop, Latta Quick Stop, Alco, Pilot Travel, Kangaroo Exxon, Marvin’s Convenience, Lil Bill’s, Breakers, and Food Lion..
On July 2, AET, local law enforcement and SLED conducted 19 compliance checks which resulted in three sales completed from the following stores: Sarah Tobacco 2, Selma Convenience, and Quick Stop Grocery.
