Services for Bruce Bethea, Jr. were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview United Methodist Church with burial in Bethea Family Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home. Visitation washeld 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bethea, 54, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2014 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
Born in Marlboro County, SC, March 3, 1960, he was the son of the late Bruce Bethea, Sr. and Inez Roller Bethea. He grew up in Dillon County, and was a Farmer most of his life. Fairview United Methodist Church was his home church, and he enjoyed attending other churches.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Billy & Bobby Bethea; and his sisters, Bonnie Byrd and Betty Barfield.
Survivors include his sisters, Rachel (Donald) Hughes of York, Barbara Ann Bethea of Clio, Brenda (Steve) Hatcher, and Bernice (Bobby) Thompson of Bennettsville, Beverly (Ronald) Smith of McColl, Flora (Coleman) Dew of Hamer; brother, Barney Ray (Wanda) Bethea of Blenheim; a host of loving nieces and nephews.
