The Dillon High School girls basketball team advanced to the fifth place game at the Little Caesars Invitational on Wednesday with a 62-48 win over Conway. The Dillon High School boys basketball team also won on Wednesday with a 71-65 victory over Florence Christian.
The Dillon County 4-H Shooting Sports Club recently participated in two South Carolina Youth Shooting Foundation Events, with Catherine Hunter Holland finishing in first place in the Ladies division and Cole Gasque earning second in the Rookie Division.
The Swansea Tigers will bring a 9-2 record into Dillon Memorial Stadium Friday to face the undefeated Wildcats in the third round of the State AA Lower State playoffs. It will be the first meeting of the two teams.
Francis Marion University sophomore forward Alex Blandin and senior defender Adrian Williams have been named to the Peach Belt Conference 2011 Men’s Soccer All-Conference Team. Both were selected to the 13-member first team.
