He was quiet and soft-spoken. He didn’t make much of a fuss. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was the “Water Man.” I think he knew everybody, and it certainly seems that everyone knew him. He was not only my co-worker, but my friend.
Dear Editor:
I feel that when a person is elected, appointed or run unopposed into office (of any kind) they themselves do not have to be a perfect person; we all have our many faults, but I feel that they do need to hold themselves above reproach in that office with their decisions.

As I have been watching and reading the news concerning the town of Latta, I feel somewhat sad because of the matters at hand.
The Latta School Board of Trustees met for the regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, May 13 in the District Administrative Conference Room.
A co-worker gave me some of this delicious strawberry butter recently and it is so good – and easy. Thanks, Rita Thomas, for sharing it with us.
Pauline Porter Jenkins passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014. Graveside services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Cooper Funeral Home.
Ray Carlton Utley, 82, of Fayetteville died Sun., May 18, 2014. Service: Funeral, 2 p.m., Wed., May 21, 2014 in Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Services for Mackenzie Leigh Cox were held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Funeral services for Edward Eugene Brigman were held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 1 pm at MarsHill Bibleway Holiness Church.
