Soft Drink Truck Driver Robbed

A driver of a soft drink truck was robbed at a Latta Grocery store on June 9th at approximately 4:30 a.m., according to an incident report by Sgt. Bobby Jones of the Latta Police Department.

Services for Lena Caulder will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday in New Life Assembly with burial in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Cooper Funeral Home, and at other times at Evelyn Dew’s home, 100 China Dr., Latta.

$10 Million In Affordable Care Act Funds To Help Create Workplace Health Programs Available

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced today the availability of $10 million to establish and evaluate comprehensive workplace health promotion programs across the nation to improve the health of American workers and their families. The initiative, with funds from the Affordable Care Act’s Prevention and Public Health Fund, is aimed at improving workplace environments so that they support healthy lifestyles and reduce risk factors for chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes.
