Dillon County 4-H Shooting Sports Members Earn Scholarships
Dillon County 4-H Shooting sports team members have won several scholarships at regional shooting events.
The Miracle Catch
This weekend brought us back again to the North Santee Inlet in Georgetown with Hunter and Thomas Jordan. We launched the skiff at the South Island Ferry on the Intracoastal waterway and drove south towards the river.
McLeod Fitness Challenge Held
Nearly 100 participants filled the streets of Dillon, participating in the McLeod Dillon Fitness Challenge 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Fun Run in recognition of the McLeod Health 110 year celebration.

Marion-Dillon Zeta Chapter Selected As Best In Pee Dee
During the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated 2016 South Carolina State Leadership Conference in Columbia, SC; Mu Kappa Zeta Chapter (Marion/Dillon Counties) was selected the number one chapter in the Pee Dee Area.

Federal Corrections Officer Indicted On Bribery And Contraband Charges
Angela McLeod, age 44, of Dillon, was charged in a 2-count indictment with bribery, a violation of Title 18, U. S. C. §201(b)(2)(C) and bringing contraband into a federal prison, a violation of Title 18, U. S. C. §1791(a)(1).
The Fishing Trip
After such a successful fishing trip the weekend before, Bo Hutchison and I planned yet another fishing trip to Georgetown the following weekend to catch more of the great Bull Reds which are moving into the shore in greater numbers as the season draws on.

New Bridge To Be Built On Hwy. 301 North
A new bridge will be built on Highway 301 North in Dillon at Kentyre Road, and work is underway to make that happen.
