Latta’s Lady Vikings fell to Ridgeland’s Lady Jaguars 59-45 in one of the most heated games of the season, ending with injuries and the ejection of Ridgeland’s Tiara Nelson.
After defeating Region 7A’s top-ranked C.E. Murray 62-58 in their first round, the Latta Vikings edged the Ridgeland Jaguars 62-60 on Friday to earn their place in the third round of the Class A Lower State Championship playoffs.
Dillon’s Lady Wildcats were one of several teams eliminated from the Class AA Lower State playoffs on Tuesday night as they fell to Manning 57-48.
Dillon’s Kwinton Smith and Jalik Bethea were named All-Region players, and Chelsea Frazier was named All-State.
