The Lady Knights from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Greenville must have felt that they had walked into an ambush Saturday morning in Columbia at the Colonial Life Arena as they tried to stop the relentless attack of the Lady Vikings of Latta High School as the two teams faced off for the single A state basketball championship with the high strung Lady Vikings taking the title by an amazing 65-39 margin.
Teams from across the state will square off this weekend to decide the 2014 state champions in girls and boys varsity basketball.
The 11–12-year-old Latta All Stars were honored with a special ring ceremony on Wednesday, February 26, at the Latta Community Center.
Players from Dillon and Latta were among those named All-State and All-Region as postseason basketball honors were announced.
Dillon Christian School’s Tyler Davis was recently named the SCISA Region 4-2A Class AA Player of the Year and has been chosen to play in the SCISA/GISA All-Star basketball game.
